Portrait of an Artist - This week has been a challenge for me in my reading schedule. The first full week of classes as a teacher and a student always seems to provide an interesting schedule. This particular book for starters also provided a challenge for me. I struggled at times to follow the development of the story and wanted to push to make things happen. As I look back at the entire text, I realize that the title really captured the essence of what was being written. The overall effect of the text required me to look through the eyes of the writer and in a sense experience his development. That experience was not always pleasant - most lives are not - but it lead me to a better understanding of the life of the artist and his response to the world around him.
I am a proud graduate of Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. Go Crusaders!
I have completed a masters of educational leadership at Southern Nazarene University and a master's in English at the University of Central Oklahoma. At this point, I am A.B.D. at the University of Oklahoma in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum in the area of English.
